FIRST N.Z. CONCERT PARTY POPULAR IN JAPAN

Eeceived Wednesday, 7 p.m. CHOFU, April 7. An enthiysiastie reception is being given everywhere fo the first New Zea land concert party to tour Japan. In its first week on tlie road the fouj' young women and two men of the part^ have delighted audiences with theii presentation of singing, instrumental tnusie and iight coiuedy items. In theii 14 week.s in Japan tlie party will p'a.Y to all the B.C.O.F. component forces and the variety pjog'ranime will un doubtedly be as popular elsewhere asit has been in the New Zealand area. After about two weeks of playing to New Zealand units and detac.linients, the party will enfertain men at R.A.A.F. and E,A-F. stations, after wards iuo\ing to the Australian area. The tour has been arranged by th» National Broadcastuig Service in New Zealand, cooperating with New Zealand Armv lleadquarters and the Australian Army Amenities Service. There are at present seven concert parties in Japgn entertaining troops of the B.C.O.F. Home of them have been in Japan for several months and are beginning a second tour of the units. Concerts are proving most popular with the troop.and add variety to tlie cineina sliow> which are provided by Amenities.
