HOLIDAY BOWLING

TOURNAMENT AT OTAKI The Otaki Bowling Club conducted a rinks tournament yesterday, but there was not a large muster of players, no notice having been given fhat one was to be held. In all there were only nine rinks, but enjoyable games resulted on a green that did Mr. Les. Walsh every credit. It was too fiery for several but, nevertheless, play in many instances was of a high order. . Three rinks tied with three wins in the four games played, and the play-off was watched with interest, this being won by a rink skipped by Booth. Following are results: Booth, Walsh and Pike three games each; Temuera, Merwood, Robertson, Baker and Simcox two each; and Grey one. Several Petone bowlers visited Otaki on Saturday and played pleasant games on the Otaki green. The Otaki Railway Club will probably arrange for fortnightly tournaments to be held on its green, which is at present in very fine condition. The Otaki Club will close its season on Saturday next.
