MT. HEKLA IN ERUPTION
Receivecl Sunday, 7.0 p.m. ,v EEYKJ A v iA, March M9. Hekla, a volcano 20 miles off the southwest coast of iceland, is erupting for the first time for neariy a century. Flames and whitehot boltlders are rising 2500 feet from the crater. One hundred feet of lava llowed as far as five miles. Farm houses 39 miles awav were shaken. Gdologists say the eriiption may last several months.
