CARNIVAL PROGRAMME

FARMERS' COMMITTEE'S PLANS At a well-attended meeting of the Farmers' Queen Committee in the forthcoming Fire Brigade carnival, held at Mr. A. E. Burling's residence on Thursday even--ing, a programme of events for the carnival was drawn up. On the opening night, March 24, a dance and card evening will be hel at Mr. A. R. Mill's residence, Kingston Road. An invitation is extended to all a'nd cars will run to and from the town. Tuesday sees the first of a series of card afternoons to be held in Laurvig's Hall, play commencing at 2 p.m. On March 26 and April 2 there are to be card evenfngs in the Mangaore Hall. On March 28 and April 3, 10 and 17 the committee will be holding shop days in Mr. S. L. Graham's buildings, Ballance Street. Monday, March 31, Billy Larkin will provide excellent music for a dance in the Moutoa Hall. Attention is drawn to Easter Saturday and the gala day to be conducted by the combined committees, the proceeds of which will be d'ivided between the three queens. Saturday, April 12, there will be a dance in the Ihakara Hall, and on April 21 a combined dance in the Druids' Hall will see the conclusion of the carnival. Easter Monday will be the farmers' big night, when they will be holding their carnival ball in the Druids' Hall. Cliff Anderson's orchestra has been engaged and a grand evening should. result..
