DUNEDIN, March 21. The tatai health stamp saies for the 1046-17 campaign amounted to £86,160. AiiuOuuciug this today the PostmasterUeneral (Mr. F. Haekett) said this vear's saies eclipsed those of last yeai (the previous best) by approximately £1 1,U0U. "All the districts have done exceptioiially well," said the Minister, ' ' the figures for all areas being substantially in advance of those for last ycar. In actual saies Canterbury with £11,188 maintaiued pride of place followed by Auckland (£10,073), Wel--liiigton (£6362), Dunedin (£8821), Hamilton £3023 j and Palmerston Nortli £3848) in that order. Wanganui, Invercargill, Napier and Timaru also did well with saies amounting to £2756, £2548, £2335 and £2181 respeetively. On a population basis, however, Dunedin led the rest of the Dominion with sale.i representing 5s ld per household. Por second place Christchurch and Oamaru tied with 3s lld per household whiic Timaru and Wanganui were bracketed next with 3s lOd. One-third of the saies, value goes to assist'in restoring health to children requiring health cainp treatment, the Minister added, and inany children who will benelit will have every reason to be grateful for the splendid response of the publie to the appeal.
