Although it had been hojied that the restoration work would have beeii coiu pfeted before Easter, it is now most unlikelv that the Uhateau Tongann. will lie ready for reopening to the publie this winter. Since the building was vacated by the Mental Hospitai. Department in December, 194.1, prac ticallv no renovations have been made and if the work is not begun 011 a niajoi ' seale within a fcw nionths it will no be possible to reopeu this year.
