WAIRARAPA RACES

• The Wairarapa Racing Club will hold its Easter meeting on April 5 and 7. The stakes are substantial and there shouid be many leading horses engaged. The Easter Handicap on the first day is worth £800 and the Martinborough Handicap £450. For the second day the Autumn Handicap is worth £600. Acceptances for the first day were very satisfactofy, and those for tli'e second day are expected to be even better. Acceptances for the latter will be taken at the racecourse on the night of ihe first day's races up to 6 p.m. and will close at the club's office at 8 p.m. Accommodation for attendants and horses will be the best, and reasonable charges will be made. The attendance at this ; popular race meeting shouid prove! i record, and many sportsmen I from this district have signifiecL their intention of being present.
