Tliere was a solid wall of snow in front of the train whil. beliind it, jammed in the" snow, ari other trains. The signalmen at Shap v sending relays of boiling water to v train to mahe Tea. The train lefl Glasgow for London at 10. 25 p.m. ye« terday. lt reached Shap and then hanlded baek to Carlisle where the passengers tliis morning were givei food. The train was again held up a Shap this afternoon when driving winds piled snowdrifts even highei and also eutting off the retreat.
