Received Wednesday, 10.25 a.m. LAHORE, March 11. Troops were rushed to new trouble spots in the Attock district, where looting and fire-raising has broken out. The police at Rawalpindi opened fire and killed two snipers and wounded five. A Government communique states that the situation is "under control." Reuter's correspondent says a brigade of troops from Poona has been ordered to the Punjab and more airborne men were sent to Multan. It is reported that the Moslems are slaughtering Hindus.and Sikhs in the country round Rawalpindi and Campbellpur and in the Hazara. According . to an official communique, fresh transborder raids occurred today in villages in the Rawalpindi district where considerable loss of life and jiroperty is feared. Sir Evan Jenkins, Governor of the Punjab, flew to Multan to study the situation. Some observers consider the Punjab threatened with civil war if the political situation is not promptly solved. Officials are appalled at the prospect • of trouble spreading throughout the province. An official said: "We want more army reinforcements." He explained that the authonties could keep order in large towns but the position was "extrerhely difficult in the rural areas.'.'
