FIVE BANDS WILL ATTEND Next Sunday thc Combinccl Bands' Committee will stagc the largest gathering of bands and landsmen evcr secn in Otaki. Five bancls will attend, Foxton Silver, Foxton "Junior Silvcr, Levin Muniflpal, Levin Boys' and a greatly strengthencd Otaki Silver. In "iddition there will, be an exhibition by at least two girls' marching j-ieams, which sliould prove interI esting to Otaki citizens. | The Levin Municipal Band will j present the quickstep, hymn test and selection it will be rendering at he prcvincial 'contest in Palmerston' North on March 29 and 30. En.ch band will provide three separate items and the combincd bands in mass formation will play the march "Invercargill" and hymn 'Lead, Kindly Night." The bands will assemble at the Sanatorium gates, Mill Road, at 1.45 | m. and march separatclv at intervals to the domain, playing a march : n route. The programme will immence at 2 o.rn. sharp with the lassed bands playing the march.
