— Personal. Micsfed Betty Edwards and Val. Williams leave at the wcekend for New Plymouth on holiday. Mr. and Mrs. MiCready, at one time residents of Otaki are at present among the visitors. Miss Jean Taylor, who has been in indifferent health, has left for Napier to recuperate. Mr. Collis Blake, at present in Lewisham Hospital in Wellington, is reported to be making satisfac&ory progress after an operation. Mr. Ian Taylor is at present under treatment on account of an njuiy to his knee. He expects to have to undergo an operation. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Wilson are at present at Port Underwood, Marlborough, on holiday, expecting to be away for nearly three weeks. Mr. Manu Carkeek, who recently underwent a major operation at .he Wellington Public. Hospital on account of war injuries, has been transferred to the services' convalescent hospital, Lower Hutt, and is reported to be making rapid progress. Athletic Sports jNext Vvcanesday will be thc final of the wcekly sports meetings held on the don)ain by the Otaki A.A. and C. Club. Otaki Tennis Teams The Otaki tennii team to play Weraroa on Saturday is: Mrs. Bell, Misscs D. and M. Taylor and B. D'Ath, Messrs. C. Atmore, B. Ryder and B. Rhodes, and Father Reader. Annual Horsc Sports 'ihe annual sports mccting of the Otaki ancl District Horse Club, which was postponed on February 15 owing to bad weather, will now be held on Easter Monday, April 7, on the Otaki racecourse. The programme will remain the same as previously advertised, with the addition of classes for members of poiiy clubs. Collision at Waikanae At about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, a collision occurrod on the main highway, near the Waikanae railway crcssing, bctween a hire-car being driven south by Mr. W. F. Goss, oi Petone, and a N.Z.R. Road Service ii'uck, being driven north by Mr. D. McMillan. Nobody was injured and:' the traick - was t not-. damaged, but the car was unable to proceed under its own power and had to be towed to a garage at Waikanae.
