OTAKI ARRANGE GAMES On Saturday at Otaki Paraparaumu will play the Otaki Club. games commencing at 2 p.m., while on March 22 Karori will visit Otaki. On March 23 Otaki will piay Petone Ccntral at Petone. The following will represent ")taki against Paraparaumu:— Wilson, Horn, Southgate, Jcnkins (s) Robcrtson, Rolfe, Evans, Atmore (s) ; S. Simcox, P. Simcox, Whitehorn, Whitelaws (s) ; McGilligan, Nicolson, Bartosh, Osborne (s); S. Merwood, Winterburn, W. Jepson, R. Merwood (s) ; Grey, Hurrell. D. Noble, Buxton (s) ; Morton, Baker, Avery, J. Noble (s) ; and Pike, Barron, Lambess, Hook (s). Paekakariki Wins Pairs Titie Playing brilliant bowls, .the Paekakariki pair, J. Roper and W. Christian, won the Wellington centre pairs championship by beating O. Silbery and W. Kerr (Petone) by 23 to 12 on the twentieth end, when the game was abandoned. The game was played on the Victoria Club's green. Paekakariki led 5 — 3 at the fourth end and at the sixth were down 5 — 6. Scores were level at the eighth end and from then on he Paekakariki pair forged steadily ahead. Roper, the Paekakariki lead, played grcat bowls, making Ihe game for Paekakariki throughout. Christian, the skip, was drawing very well and played an excellent all-round game. His drives proved far morc effectivc than his opposite number, Silbery. Conditions were very difficult, with a gusty wind. The green was in first-class order and played particularly well. The semi-finals rcsulted as follows: — Petone, 21, bcat Otaki Railway (A. Webster and O. Symons), 16; Paekakariki 19, beat Porirua (W. Skinner and A. Tough), 17. Tournament at Railway A tournament will be held on the Railway green on March 16, commencing at 10.30 a.m. Already a number of Wellington and other players have signified their inten- ; tion of being present. Mr. A. Watt. the well-known Taranaki bowler, has joined the Railway Club and should prove an acquisition.
