AZURE BLUE GOWNS
The wedding took place at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul recently of Ida Frances, daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. C. Sawyer, Te Horo, and Stanley George Horne, of Wellington, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. Horne, of Gisborne. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in eream satin-embossed marocain niade with a fltting bodice buttoned to the waist, heart-shaped neckline, and wrist-length sleeves. The full fan-shaped train was gath ered from the waist, and the hem, and like the neck and sleeves, was edged with tiny loops. Her tulle veil was caught to the head with deep cream roses and she carried a shower bouquet of cream gladioli and roses. She was attended by her sister, Miss Kathleen Sawyer, Miss Dorothy Horne (sister of the bridegroom), and Miss Kathleen Purvis. Lvla and Anthony Langman were flower girl and page boy respectively. The bridesmaids were dressed alike in azure blue angelskin, made on similar lines to the bride's gown, with very full skirts and blue and pink flowers in their hair and carried bouquets of sweet peas an'd delphiniums in shades of pink and blue. The flower girl was dresed in pink crepe de chine, frilled to the toes, the frills being piped with blue, a blue sash, and a blue bow in her hair. She also carried a posy of toning flowers. The page boy wore a swallow-tailed suit also in blue with cream satin frilled jabot. Attending the bridegroom was Mr. R. Clayton as best man, and Mr. A. White and Mr. N. Kelly as groomsmcn. During the signing of the register "I Will Sing of Thy Great Mercies" was sung by Miss Myra Sawyer. The reception was held at the R.S.A. Social Hall and the guests were received by Mrs. J. Allison, sister of the bride, and Mrs. L. Ingham, sister of thc bridegroom. Vocal and pianoforte items v/ere given by Mrs. B. Trim, Mr. Val Jones, Miss Myra 4 Sawyer, Mrs. Ingham, and Miss Kathleen Sawyer. The bride and bridegroom lcft by car for a North Island tour,- the bride wearing a violet ensemble and brown fur coat. Mr. and Mrs. Horne will make their home in Kelburn, Wellington.
