ANNUAL GATHERING HELD IN "LEVIN The annual Wellington diiStrict conference of the Manchester[Jnity of the Independent Order of Oddfellows was held in Levin pn Saturday last under the auspices of ■;he loGal Loyal Victoria biamond Lodge, which was celebratmg its golden jubilee. This is the third fcime the cpnferenee has had |ts venue in Levin, the last oceasion being in 1927. The Grand Master of the district, Mr. G. D. Harris, presided and 33 delegatea from the various lodges it comprises attended- Mr. F. O. Malcolm represented- the Loyal Victoria Diamond Lodge. A full day was spent in consideratipn and discusgion Of matters of interest to lodge members,, among the main items being insurance and ;he credit union. It was reppHed that tho district's membership at the end of the year was about 3Q00 and that it was now increasing again after a decline fpJlpwing the adyent pf social secuvity, At th§ qonclusion pf the business Mr R. Wiakens, of Wellington, was installed as Grand Master of 1 the district for the ensuing year and Mr. Ii. J. Cpoper, pf Eketahuna, as deputy,
