AUCKLAND, Feb. 23. A sixteen months' old boy was killed by strangulation while playing . at a relative's home in Papakura. He was Rodney Steplien Mickell, son of Mr. G. R. Mickell, of Morrinsville. Mrs. Mickell was visiting a relative, Mr. C. C. King, and the child was playing near a tree on the lawn at tlie rear of the liouse. The mother left Tlie child for about 15 minutes and when she returaed she found the boy lying dead with his head through a Joop of a rope swung from the tree. The rope was forraerly used as a swing and a loop had been formed by two knots about a foot from the ground.
