PARAPARAUMU NOTES
(Our Own- Correspondent) . There was a fair attendance at the monthly meeting of the W.D.F.U. held in the Anglican Hali, Paraparaumu. -■ The meeting was presided over by Mrs. Harris. Mention was made of the Levin Show" Paraparaumu W.D.F.U. being. placed second in the pantry display. -The roll call for the month was "the best labour saver." Best bloom was won by Mrs. E. Harris with a hollyhock, Mrs. Wallace (gladioli) 2. Mrs. Strand was the winner of the competition a dmner menu." Afternoon tea was served and the meeting concluded with the singing of the Nauional Anthem. , , ... A bulldozer is at work levelhng ground for a social hall to be erected on the prepared section. A new post offi.ee has been erected at Raumati and will prove a boon to local residents. The friends of Mr. F. H. Clarkson will regret to learn that he is seriously ill in the Wellington Hospital. The Paraparaumu Women s Institute held their monthly meeting in the Anglican Hall presided over by Mrs. Hornsby. The meeting opened with the singing of the institute song and the repeating of the aspirations. After the business portion of . the, meeting had concluded Mr. M. Hornsby, who returned from India by the illfated "Wanganella," gave a very interesting talk on. India which was much appreciated by all. The best flower competition was won by Mrs. Glenn Campbell 1 and Mrs. Delahunty 2. Nominations for officers for the following year were called for and the meeting , concluded with the singing of the National Anthem
