RIFLE SHOOTING
LEVIN CLUB'S COMPETITIONS STARTED The Levin Rifie Club commenced its competition series of shoots on Saturday with a double ten-shot-match at 300 yards. The club championship will be decided by firing four double tenshot matches at ea range, the competitors counting their four highsst range scores at each range. The Sherlaw Cup will be competed for under similar conditions plus handicap. The Hamilton Cup wili also be fired under these conditions, but competition will only be open to first season riflemen. The Munro Cup will be competed for over the 300 and 500 yard ranges. The conditions at each range are to be the same as applied to the Sherlaw Cup. The Allen Cup. will be fired for at the 300 yard range and the Hogg Cup at the 600 yard range. In both these competitions the two nighest daily totals will count. Firing conditions at the 300 yard range were comparatively easy, with the result that-a number of riflemen reached the club's range standard of 47. Detailed scores plus handicap were: P. R.
