WEjjXjIN Gr i UJN , Jt eD. 4, The work of preparing the Wanganella for further attempts at refloating is proceeding with all urgency. The main task is the sealing off of the gashed section of the ship's hui! below No. 2 hold. The delay necessary to coinplete this work has to he balanced against any danger which might arise from the incidence of a strong goutherly hut the gain, if it 1 can he- successfully completed, will he considerahle. What is heing done is to huild a coffer dam round the hreach in the hull, entailing much underwater work. When it is complete it is hoped No. 2 hold can he pumped out, reducing the waterlogged area to No^^hold. It is then expeeted the r.egMBikbuoyancy will he such that tYie|HHp)f the reef on the ship's bottom^Hl he much reduced. Then a majDr attempt at refloating will he made. This may he hefore the weekend.
