BACKWARD FACING SEATS IN PLANES

Transport Command tests may 'result in British airliners' seats being I turned round • so that the passengers faee an aircraft 's tail, says the Evening News. British airlines are also experimenting. A technical official said the backward facing of seats provided a greater safety factor in an emergeney as the back of the seat took all the weight. The arrangement should also give greater comfort. . The compani4s wdll obtain the pub lic's reaction to such a drastic chango by introducing a few backward facing seats in some planes.
