LONDON, Feb, 2. A strong police eseort guarded the first biitcli of British evaeuees leaving .Jerusalem today for Lyyda airport. An armoureil ear preeeded tlie eonvoy as it left the barbed-wire closed security area. Police squads inanned all cars and baggage lorries. Reuter's Jerusalem eorrespondent says that 4IJ British women and children, the iirst evaeuees _ under the Government 's "Quit Palestine" order, are leaving Lydda airport for Englnnd at midnight in a speciallv chartered Skvmaster. The Palestine Governuient is paying £70 as the cost of each person 's passage. Four R.A.F. Dakotas are due at Lydda tomorrow to assist in the evaeuation. Mr. Justice Windham, who was recently kiduapped and released, was the last Englishinan to leave Tel Aviv. llis wife is returning to Britain.
