Received Monday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 26. The Atomic Energy Council is submitting to Cabinet soon plans to produce a quarter of Britain's eiectrieal power from uranium, thus saving 5,000,000 tons of coal annually, says the D'aily Express. It is helieved the Council has recommended the building of atomic plant to generate 1,000,000 kilowatts and consuming less than three tons oi uranium annually. The building will probably hegin within three years and will he 20 miles from any big town to allow of the rapid evacuation of the district in the improbable event of the atomic furnaces freeing radioactive dust' fumes. , More than 1000 tons of uranium ore - are now being nrocessed as atomic fnel.
