LIGHTS IN TOWN FOR BAND PROGRAMMES
REQUEST TO BOROUGII COUNCIL
To assist the Otakj Brass Band in providing musical programmes in the. town on Friday nights, the band secretary (Mr. Lumley) Iwroce to Wednesday evening's I meeting of the Otaki Borough ! Council asking that consideration be given to the erection of two jstandards for lighting in different I parts of Main Street. Various places were suggested for the lights, one being in the rest .resort grounds, but after brief discussion it was. considered this would be detrimental to the- grounds. Another suggestion was that lights be erected between the Bank of New Zealand and the Chinese Association 's rooms. It was ultimately decided to again consider the matter when further information was available.
