At a meeting of the Horowhenua A. and P. Association's general committee this week it was decided to forward a letter to the Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, wishing him a speedy recovery after his pperation.

Mrs. D. Buxton, of Tirau, is at present the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H- B. Burdekin, Weraroa Road. Mrs. Burdekin and Mrs. Buxton will be the guests of the Horowhenua Marching Association at its appreciation dance in the Regent ballroom this evening, and at the conclusion of the Horo_whenua waltzing championship the Mayoress will present the cups to the winners.
