RETURN OF GERMAN FARMS

LONDON, Dec. 29. It is reliably reported that the United States, in the coming peace talks on Germany, will propose that a large part of the former Reieh agrieultural areas which Poland now oceupies in tke east should be returned to Germany, says the Berlin eorresjjondent of the Assoeiated Press. The Arnerican contention' will be that Germany eannot be self-supporting with the loss of 25 per cent. of her best agricultural ground, and that this permanent loss will only provide a talking p.oint for a new war. The United >States proposals, which are expected to receive British support, are that Poland should retain the rich German industrial area of Silesia and also half of East. Prussia, which Poland now occupies, besides Danzig — but that the agricultural areas of Pomefania and BrandCnberg, which the Polish troops are occupyiug, should revCrt to Germany. ,
