Offensive Planned Against Vietnamese LEAVE PERSONNEL RECALLED

Received Monday, 11.35 a.m. PARIS, Dec. 29. The Paris newspaper Combat reports that the naval authorities have recalled to their base at Toulon French sailors and airmen at present on leave from the aircraft carriers Bearn and Colossus, both of which were recently sent to France from Britain, and the Bixmude, and also those belonging to the light cruisers Fantasque and Triomphant. The newspaper links the recall with the report that a formation of French warships was about to sail for Indo-China. A French Wai* Offlce spokesman said that reinforcements for the French "offensive" against the Vietnamese, planned for three to four weeks time, are being rushed to Indo-China. He added that two transports were already 011 the way. The Vietnam News Agency described as unfounded and slanderous the French report that Japanese dead had been found among the Vietnam casualties at Hanoi. The agency said that more than 100 French soldiers had been kilied during the flrst five days' fighting at ■ Hanoi. Three French planes bombed one building which held '40 French prisoners of war, killing 1 14. ______
