AUCKLAND, Dec. 27. A 21,000-mile journey by air, sea and land occupving four months, was completed today when an Knglisli family, determined to reach New Zealand and settle here, arrived from Sydnev by flving boat. The party consisted of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Potherbv, of Leeds, accompaniod by their 2.1-vear-old daughter Jcan and lG-year-old son William. "We read a lot about New Zealand and in 1941 we decided we should come out here to makc our home as soon. as possible," said Mr. Potherbv. "The New Zealand High Conunissioner . in London was very kind but travel restrictions were enforecd and evcn - when tliese were raised we found it impossible to get passage on a ship. We therefore chartered a de Havilland Rapide aircraft from the Lancashire Airways Corporation for the first part of our trip, leaving on August 16."
