WELLINGTON,. Dec. 23. No settlement of the waterfront dispute is yet reported, 'Members. of the executive of the Waterside Workers.' Union,. to- : gether with ofScials of the Federation of Labour, met the Minister of Labour', Hon. A. McLagan, atParliament Buildings today but no> headway was made. The watersider's adliered firmly to their dentancls aird no snbstan-ti-ally new proposals arose from the conference. In the evenirrg waterside officials conferred again with the executive of the Federation of ; Labour. Union offieials are scheduled to- return to their home Sports tomorrow and there is yet noi guarantee of a settlement before the New Year. The watcrsiders will cease work at noon Christmas Eve, as is crrstomary, resumirrg on Friday Uimilar hours will be worked in the New Year.
