DEMAND BY TRAMWAYMEN WELLINGTON, Dec. 23. The seeretary of the N.Z. Tramway 4 Employees Union, Mr. P. A. Hansen, announced tonight that a ballot had been concluded among tramwaymen throughout. the Dominion in which, by an overwhelming majority, it was decided to seek a national agreement to. cover the industry. If a national agreement cannot be achieved, then by a similar majority, union members have agreed that the union shall deregister under the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act. The voting covered all centres in which trams operate, said Mr. Hansen. Polling was very heavy.
