CATALOGUE OF 39,439 RALES
By Telegraph-
NAPIER, Dec. 19. A total clearance of the first catalogue, comprising 5398 bales, marked the early stages of the third Napier wooi sale this morping. The total catalogue is 39,429 bales. ,3 Competition y;P,s well spread during the morning, with the Continent imparting the main zest to the disposal- New Zealand mflls were also active, while Bradford was in the market for suitable lots. A feature of early buying was the snirjted inquiry for lambs' wool. while piecesr especially necks and good combing sorts, were in demand. The wool opened up in good wellgrown condition. The inquiry for all clssses of wool was bijsjk throughout the morning. although in the later stages the floor priees were not being eclipsed with the same ease as at the opening of tb^ fleece wool selling at the second sale last month. A greater preponderance of fleece- wool fr^m grown sheep might have accounted for the slight depreciation bv crmparison with the November disposal, when bright hogget wool gave added character to the catalogue.
