Ideal weather prevailed for Saturday's games in the Hall Shield cricket competition, The championship points to date are: Weraroa 35, Paraparaumu 33, Old Boys 25, Levin and Otaki A 23, College A 20, College B and Otaki B 13, and- Shannon A and Shannon B 0. - y: Paraparaumu had a ... two-ruh win over Old Boys. Old Boys, who have proved themselves a hard team to beat this seaSon, went to the wicket first and made a total of 91 runs, B. Walker (25) and Judd (16) being the main scorers. Bowling for Paraparaumu, Hadfield took four wickets for 24 runs. Paraparaumu replied with .93, Keogh (31) and Reeves (18) being the principal 'cohtributors. V. Lynch took five wickets for 19, an average of 3.8. The long grass around the wicket kept the scoring Iow, and this no doubt had an effect on the result. College B suffered a defeat at the hands of Levin. Levin batted first and knocked up a total of 127, Jukes (37) and Galloway (35) being the strongest hitters. Bowling for College, Chappell took six wickets for 43 runs. College replied with 72, Williams (20 not out) and Parsons (18) being the top scorers. Lfevin retftrned to the wicket and made 151, Galloway (35), Veysey (41) and C. Walker (20) being the principal run getters. Gardner returned the good figures of four wickets for five runs. College batted with more confidence in their second innings and reached the good total of 129, Close (34) and Parsons (29) making the runs. Veysey took three wickets at a low cost. j
