The telephone exchange at the Levin Post Office established its record for toll calls yesterday, when 487 were put through, „ said the postmaster, Mr. L. A.'Whitharn. This figure is 67 more than the previous record set recently. The rush, which remained steady all day, was maintained at night and is likely to continue for some tini". The volume of calls to Wellington was particularly heavy, uridoubtedly justifying the additional line installed recently. The postmaster stressed the adVisability of subscribers ensuring that their calls are submitted early.
