LEVIN WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
FINAL MEETING OF YEAR The last meeting of the year for members of the Levin Women's Instftute was held recently. There was a very good attendance of members, and all were welcomed bv the president, Mrs. Kellaway. Before the commencement of business, the president called for one minute's silence in memory of the late Mesdames Ransom and Wilson. During the last three months the institute has lost three very valuable members through death, and who will be very much missed. At the last meeting members were asked to bring a gift for the Christmas party at the Levin Farm, Kimberley Road. The response was very good and some excellent gifts were sent in. At the conclusion of business the remainder of the evening was social. Mrs. Hesp and Miss Munro entertained with songs very'-charm-ingly sung, and each received a spray of flowrers. Games and competitions followed, and supper was served. As one of the members of the committee, Miss E. Bradley, is about to be married, the president oresented her with a~very nice gift from the members. Miss Bradley suitably responded. The evening ended with the singing of three very popular carols, everyone joining in very heartily and' a very happy time closed with the singing of the National Anthem. The monthly competitions were won as follows: — Flowers: Mrs. Watson 1, Mrs. Sharp 2, Mrs. Young 3. Shrubs: Mrs. Savell 1, Mrs. Milne 2. Novelty: Mrs. Nichoi l,v Mrs. Mitchell 2, Miss Dynan 3. Vegetable: Mrs. Spencer.
