HAHTINGH, Dee. 9. Trapped in a well heneatfi a motor car whieh snddenlv bursl into fames wliile he was working on it, a young motor meclianic in the employ -of Thompson JMotors, Ltd., Karamu Road, was badly burnt. He is Lcighton List, aged 19, of 207 Hastings Htreet. He was very badly shocked and has burns to botli hands and fifcejbut liis eondition is satisfactory. Tlie petrol tank of the car had been draineil and List Was engaged in boring the petrol cap with an electric drill when the rear povtion of the car sud denly burst into liames. It is surmised the lire was caused by a spark from tlie drill. List was trapped beneath tlie car and received burns to his faee and hands befo.re he was extracted by some workmates.
