Ilay's Pal will no doubt be oue oi the faucied division for the open sprint on the second day of the Avondale uieeting on Saturday. At his last appearance the Diatoinous gelding made a determined bid to win the Cheltenham Haudicap from end to end at Ellerslie last moiitli, onlv to fail in the Jinal few strides to huld olf tlie fast-linishing Take-a-Lot. Ilay's Pal has not been extensively raced this season and he should be a lit horse for his forthcoming eugageiuent, in which he will be ridden by H. N. Wiggins.
