The wife and daughters of a man who, twenty years ago, accepted a chal Jenge by Lady Astor to pay the travelling expenses of any Englishnian avIio believeii he could support his family in Russia, are ap[)ealing to relatives in Britain to help in tlveir repatriation. Lady Astor 's challenge was taken up in 1D2() by llr. .T. Aforton, of Edgehill. Ile lef't for Russia in that year aceom panied bv his wife and two children. The family met with misfortune, liow ever, for twelve nionths after their arrival in Russia .Mr. Aiorton died. The widow and children were well earcd for bv the Russian authorities and deeided to slay on. War brought new misfortunes, however, for the son was killed fighting with the Rtissian forces on thc Finnish front and the daughter, who married a Russian subsccjuenfly divorced him. Xhe has since remarried, this timo to a Russian oflicer and is now appealing to another brother wlio ro mained in England, to arrange for tlu repatriation of herseif and her mnther. ATrs. Morton retained her British nat ionality and lias paid several visits to Britain since she iirst went to Russia.
