INVERCARGILL; Nov. 28. Hamilton 's claiin to a record for tlie speed with which the returns were completed in that electorate is upset by the time taken in Invercargill. The result was known 20 minutes after the closing of the poll. Within three minutes of 7 o'clock the first return was received by telephone. The expeditious postiwg of the results eaught many electors unawares as they were expecting progress returns from 7.30 onwards. Just over 13,000 votes were cast.
