TEN DAYS BEFORE FINALS ARE KNOWN
WELLINGTON, Nov. 28. Under the eleetoral procedure polling is followed by a gcrutiny of the rolls by the returning officers. When this has been completed the ofiicial count in which outstanding votes such as postal and absentee votes are included is made. It was stated today that a start would be made today with the scrutiny of the rolls. The ofiicial count is expected to bcgin early next week, und it is uiilikely that it will be completed bofure the end of tho week at Cho arliest. It will thcroforo be at least ten (lays bet'ore the position is fiually determined in tlie seats in which tlie result at Ihe moment is very open. Tlie forces votes from overseas and also votes by members of the forces stationed in New Zcaland were included in the preliminary counls for the various electorates last night, but not all the forces votes in New Zealand were couiilcd — only those which had been received by two o'clock in the afternoon. rt was stated today that jiossibly as many more Avould bc reccived today.
