Y.W.C.A. NEW BUILDING

RAISING OF NECESSARY FTJNDS A few weeks ago the Levin Rotary Club entertained representatives of various women's organisations at luncheon in order to hear Mrs. Martin speak on the subject of the Y.W.C.A.'s appeal for a new building, which it is proposed to erect in Wellington at a cost of £100,000. As a direct result of this function, those organisations which felt they could assist sent representatives to a meeting convened by the Mayoress, Mrs. H. B. Burdekin. The final decision of that meeting was to send goods of various kinds to the Y.W.C.A. Opportunity Shop in Wellington on four occasions during the year, the first effort to be made early in the New Year following a meeting at the begihning of February. This is a cause with a special appeal to young women, and members of the junior women's organisations hope to organise sorne function during the winter moiiths to raise funds for it. - - -
