C1IRISTCHUR.CH, Nov. 4. "If present treiuls continue, and I believe they certainlv will, tlie National L'arty will reduce tlie petrol tax by lemoving fourpence a gallon war loading, " said tlie Leader of the National l'arty, Alr. S. G. Ilolland, wlien he addressed eleetors at St. Andrew's Hall tliis evening. "This will give welcome taxation relief to all niotorists and will substantially lower* production costs," Mr. Hollantl added. He said petrol taxation was 14.7d per gallon. Now that rationing had been lifted there was an increased deinand and eonsequently an increase in the amount paid by way of taxation into the coffers of the Government. "It will be interesting to see what our friends of the other side have to say about this aunouncement, " coinmented Alr. Hollajid.
