LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

RECOGNITION OF SERVICES Sir ,— It is with regret that I learnt that Mr. L. G. Lowry, our; member of Parliament, is unable through health reasons to repre"sent us again: I feel some suitable acknowledgment such as an illuminated address or a presentation would show a small appreciation for what he has done for the district, particularly his untiying efforts in getting work done on the river; thus saving many homes and farms. I feel it would be greatly appreciated if the Mayor would take this up so the people could thank Mr. Lowry in some small form. Enclosed is £5 as a small start. Yours etc., "RANGIURU." Otaki, Oct. 31.
