IN EUROPE WITH UNRRA
At the recent meeting of the Shannon Women's Jnstitute _ a descriptive and most interesting letter was read by Mrs: Clark from her sister, Sister Joyce Horner, 'who is serving with UNRRA in Europe. Sister Horner described a trainjourney from Germany -with 150 displaced persons, who were being repatriared to Poland. The difficulties of feeding babies, providing cocoa for the elder children, dealing with sickriess and co'oking meals in her own compartment for herself and an Ameriean, who, with her, was responsible for the wellbeing of those people on the very slow journey lasting several days, was vividly portrayed. This left no doubt in the listeners' minds that New Zealanders could always measure up to responsibilities and make the best of awkward situations. Sister Horner mentioned the high regard in wfiich New Zealandtrained nurses were held everywhere, and their reputation for efficiency.
