GIFT AFTERNOON

PRE-WEDDING SOCIAL Mesdames R. Roberts and L. A. Stratford were hostesses on Saturday afternon for a gift party in honour of Miss Minnie Jensen, whose wedding takes piace in Palmerston North shortly. There were about thirty people present and games and competitions were held. Competition winners were Mesdames E. Thorne, K. Olsen, J. Griffiths and T. Bell. Elocutionary items were given by Pam Clayton and Joan Radford, the latter also rendering a piano solo, and songs t>y Mrs. J. Allerby. Following aftqrnoon tea, Mrs. J. A. Easton, on behalf of those assembled, asked Miss Jensen to accept with their best wishes for her future happiness, a variety of gifts for her future home.
