LEVIN WEDDING
O'BRIEN— LYNCH A wedding of district interest was celebrated on Saturday, Septefnber 14, sEl St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Levin, when Patrieia Mary Mysie, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lynch, of Victoria 'Street,' Levin, was marrfed to Eugene Joseph, son of Mrs. J. and the late Mr. H. O'Brien, of Auckland. Rev. Father E. J. Lynch officiated and Mrs. I. Clifford', aunt of the bride, played the wedding music. Miss M. O'Donnell, Levin, sang "Ave Maria" during the signing if the register. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a pink model frock cut on classical lines, with diamenie trimming. She wore a gold locket the gift of the bridegroom. From a halo oL sofo pink ostrich feathers hung a shoulder-length veil, and she earried a bouquet of carnations, hyacinths and sweet peas in shades of pink. The bridesmaid, Miss Joan Lynch, sister of the bride, wore a Marina blue model frock, diamente trimmed, and she wore a matching blue shoulder length veil, falling from a halo of blue ostrich feathers. Her bouquet was of tulips, stock and freezias in cyclamen shades. She wore a gold cross and chain^the gift of the bridegroom. The church was artistically decorated with spring flowers by a great-aunt of the bride, Mrs. J. J. Gallagher, Levin, assisted by the bride's sister. The happy couple stood under an archway decorated with flowers, intermingled with miniature wedding bells. As they left the church, a cousin of the bride, little Liane Watson, of Plimmerton, presented her with a lucky Horseshoe. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Eric Lloyd, of Wellington, and the bride's two brothcrs, Messrs. Vincent and Raymond Lynch, acted as ushers. The reception was held at the Druids' Hall, where Mr. and Mrs. Lynch received their guests. Owing to illness the bridegroom's mother was unable to be present. The bride's mother wore a becoming suit of purple and grey, with a spray of orchids and accessories of black. Some sixty guests were entertained at the reception, where the toasts were suitably honoured and acknowledged. Miss M. O'Donnell provided a pleasing interlude with a vocal solo. Later the guests viewed the wedding gifts at the bride's home and were again hospitably entertained by her parents. A varied array of beautiful presents, including cheques, were received by the young couple. For travelling, the bride chose a black boucle ensemble, with cherry blouse and small black hat and accessories of black. They left by car for Napier on the fSrst stage of their honeymoon.
