WELLINGTON, Oct. 13. lncreases of 5s aud 7s Od a weck are grauted in the New Zealaud Eacecourse Employeos Award issued by the Arbitratiou Court. The award ratiffes an agroement reachcd in Conciliation Council. The minimum wage rates, subject to the court 's two cost of living bonuses, are: Gardeuer £6 ls 8d week (5s increase), groundsman £5 14s 2d (5s increase), trackmen £6 ls 8d (7s 6d increase). Male workers not otherwise specilied in the award are to be paid 24s a day or £5 11s 8d a week, an incrense of ,1s 8d a day or .5s a week. These rates apply to the Auckland Racing Club, Auckland Trotting Club, Avondale Jockey Club, Canterbury Jockey Club, Canterbury Park Trotting Club, Dunedin Jockey Club, Forbury Park Trotting ' Club, Hawkes Bay Jockey Club," Manawatu Racing Club, New Zealaud Metropolitan Trotting Club, Stratford Racing Club, Taranaki Jockey Club, Waikato Racing Club, Wanganui Jockey Club, and Wellington Racing Club. Casual workers on race days are to receive a minimum of 12s a day for any part of a day's work up to three hours, provided vvhere the work extends beyond 1 p.m. they are to be paid not less than £1 4s. This is an increase of lOd for the half day and ls 8d for the full day. For casuals employed by the day on race davs the minimum is fixed at £1 4s; an increase of ls 8d.
