ACES SPORTS CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Aces Sports Club was held recently. The treasurer, Mr. Wylie, presented the balance sheet, which showed that the club was in a remarkably sound financial position. The election of officers for tfie coming year resulted as follows: — Patron: Mr. W. Wilson; president: Mr. G. McKinley; vice-presidents: Messrs. H. R. Eaton, H. Wylie, C. Brooks, H. B. Edhouse, M. Mason, A. Quinlivan and W. Rhind; secretary: Miss J. Merwood, treasurer: Mr. H. Wylie; club captain: Mr. P. Bloomfield. A review of the club's activities during the past year revealed an excellent record for so young a club. Two cups for indoor basketball ha'd been won and the Homer Shield, presented by the Horowhenua Softball Association, was won by the Aces men's team. Members had been represented in indoor and outdoor basketball, baseball, cycling and athletic sports. Pride of .the club are the colts, a group of junior boys who made an excellent showing in the Otaki Indoor Basketball Association's competition.
