Personal Among the visitors at' the Otaki 'races on Saturday were ex-Otaki residents, Dr. and Mrs. Sharp, of Featherston, and Mr. and Mrs. Winton Brown, of Wellington. Many Cars at Races It is estimated that there were nearly 2000 cars at the races at Otaki on Saturday. The manner in which the parking was carried out reflected credit on the officers responsibie for it. Fish Yarn A tall fish yarn has been going the rounds, it being stated that a huge fish of unknown species had been found on the Te Horo beach. From inquiries made it is stated that it is the remains of some fish washed up some years ago. Junior Nationai Party A large number of members of the Junior Nationai Party "from Wellington visited Otaki yesterday and indulged in a very pleasant outing. They were entertained by members and friends of the Nationai Party of Otaki. Otaki Races Popular The sum of over £150,000 put through the totalisator at the Otaki race meeting constitutes a record. The attendances on both days were very large, plainly demonstrating the popularity of the club's meetings. Special arrangements will be made to cater for patrons at the next meeting, which will be held in December.
