WANGANUI, ocu. i^; An appeal for liberality in admitting and welcoming persecuted Europeans to New Zealand was issued today by the Society of Friends (Quakers). "We are not unmindful of the claims of our fellow Britains in wishing to com.e- rhere . from the Aiother .Country,"!says the appgal, "but* notjhing 4 we . believe qan detract from. the- consideration due to innoeent meif; .'Women and children, who have suffered cruel persecution and who are still haying to endure extreme hardships, qnd in many eases semi-starvation." The appeal is addressed to the Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of Immigration.
