N.Z. BOWLING ASSOCIATION

A meeting of the council executive of the New Zealand Bowling Association was held recently in Wellington. The Christchurch Centre forwarded the following notice of resolution for the half-yearly meeting and it was referred accorclingly : That the council give f urther consideration to the resolution carried at the annual meeting with reference to test stamp marking on bowls and the power taken away from umpires regarding same. Mr. W. Efford brought under notice .an instance of bowls with the discs incorrectly .marked -bearing the tes't stamp. It was decided to thank Mr. Efford for his letter, and to bring the matter under the notice of the tester eoncerned. j The Bay of Plenty Centre advised that the Rotorua Club had been granted permission to hold open tournaments commencing on February 3 and 17 next. It was decided that a remit should be submitted to the half-yearly meeting of the Dominion council covering the granting to clubs of permission to hold open tournaments.
