Mr.- E. E. Tyrrell returned to Levin yesterday after attendirig the National Conveiition of the "New Zealand Junior Chamber of Commerce, held over a period of four days at Timaru. Mr. Russell James Duncan, aged 91, one of Napier's oldest residents, died at his residence, Cobden Terrace, on Monday. He was a keen student of New Zealand history and had an extensive library. From Mr. Duncan's library came much valuable material for publication in the Hawke's Bay centennial history. He was recognised pa'rtieularly as an authority on the life of Captain Cook. He is survived by his wife and a brother, Mr. W. Duncan, of Feilding.
