Farmers Ask For Decision COVERNMENTS INTENTIONS

"WELLINGTON, Oct. 4. " The Government will be asked by Federated Farmers to state an J.immigration policy immediately, in view of the fact that thonsands * of British ■servicemen will be available as migrants -after their demobilisation. The annual conference reached '» this decision and also carried the Lollowing ' remit from the West Ooast : — ' • ' "That this conference, believilig as it does that our moral rjght to hold and inherit this country is • dependant on the utilisation to the raaximum degree of its natural resources by a greatly expanded population, urges the Government to carry out a thorough aetuarial survey of the Dominion 's re- ' sonrces with the object of determining what population Can be actually snstained having regard to the maintenance of onr standard of living, and having reached a conclusion, institute a definite eonstructive policy. aimed at expanding our population to the determined figure in the shortest possible time."
